The NOSAN Group, traces its origins to the livestock feed business of 1931. We have since gained the tremendous support of many livestock and fisheries producers as well as that of our customers through our livestock feed, aqua feed, pet food, and egg businesses; including our premium eggs, with the “Hikari” brand iodine-enriched eggs at the forefront.
As environmental considerations become increasingly important, we feel strongly that our role and the expectations on the NOSAN Group in contributing to realize a sustainable society, through various efforts such as reducing our environmental impact throughout our supply chain, have strengthened.

Livestock Feed
Nosan devotes much effort to manufacturing new feed products, making constant use of the latest technology such as nutrition programs based on the current field data and the blending of new raw materials and those from recycling food waste to reduce environmental burden. We manufacture and sell feed for dairy cattle, beef cattle, egg-laying hens, broilers, and swine.
Moreover, we design nutritionally balanced feed for racing, riding,breeding and growth horses.
Aqua Feed
Nosan handles various types of aqua feed products. In addition to feed for the main cultured fish species such as red sea bream, yellowtail, greater amberjack, coho salmon, Japanese eel, ayu and rainbow trout, we also handle feed for Japanese tiger prawns, abalone, bivalves and hatchery aquariums. The feed we develop helps improve the quality of fish meat, and in collaboration with production areas and distribution companies, we promote the branding of cultured fish.
Egg Business
Hikari brand iodine-enriched eggs
Hikari iodine-enriched eggs are Japan’s first egg brand, which was first launched in 1976. At Nosan, our storehouse of knowledge cultivated over the years as a leading manufacturer of feed is used to develop proprietary feed containing powdered seaweed and white meat fish meal, etc. Iodine, an essential mineral for people, is absorbed from the feed into the body of a hen, then naturally passed on, resulting in unique eggs. Hikari iodine-enriched eggs are tested using the Taste Sensing System at the Taste and Aroma Strategic Research Institute Co., Ltd., showing that their flavor is 3.5 times richer than average Japanese eggs. The deliciousness of Hikari iodine-enriched eggs is guaranteed by our unique and thorough quality control program. Eggs produced at certified farms that have cleared strict screening criteria are washed and selected at certified grading and packing centers across Japan, and then only eggs that meet our standards are shipped. Bacteria and egg-quality tests are also conducted on a regular basis.
